The Diapontia BlueprintThree Islands. One Shared Future.

About Us

Connecting people, knowledge and resources.

The Diapontia Blueprint is a long-term initiative bringing together residents, island representatives, associations, businesses, professionals, the diaspora, government representatives, and friends of the Diapontia Islands.

Our purpose is not to compete with anyone or replace the good work already being done. Our goal is to connect people, knowledge, and resources so that good ideas can become practical action.

Each island has its own identity and individual needs, but Mathraki, Othonoi, and Erikousa face many of the same challenges. We believe that three voices working together are stronger than one.

Island Representatives

Mathraki, Othonoi and Erikousa are each represented within The Diapontia Blueprint.

Chris Katehis — Mathraki

Chris Katehis

Mathraki Representative

Chris Katehis is a fourth-generation Mathrakiot who returned to his family island after many years in the United States. An entrepreneur and advocate for sustainable small-island development, he works to strengthen Mathraki and the wider Diapontia Islands through responsible tourism, community initiatives, environmental stewardship, and partnerships with businesses, universities, and public institutions. Chris believes that lasting change comes from practical action, collaboration, and giving people a meaningful reason to contribute. Through The Diapontia Blueprint, his goal is to help connect people, expertise, and opportunities across Mathraki, Othonoi, and Erikousa—building stronger, living islands for future generations.

Yiannis Katehis — Othonoi

Yiannis Katehis

Othonoi Representative

Yiannis Katehis returned to his father's island of Othonoi with a clear belief that caring for a small island requires more than words—it requires people willing to invest their own time, effort, and resources. He has worked with others to address practical island needs involving the port, water, waste management, fire protection, the restoration of historic walking trails, and the promotion of sustainable agriculture connected with responsible tourism. Yiannis believes that protecting Othonoi's natural environment and cultural heritage must come first. His vision is to preserve what makes the island special while helping it remain active, welcoming, and sustainable for its year-round residents and future generations. Through The Diapontia Blueprint, he brings practical experience, deep concern for the island, and a commitment to cooperation across Othonoi, Mathraki, and Erikousa.
