Mathraki Representative

Chris Katehis is a fourth-generation Mathrakiot who returned to his family island after many years in the United States. An entrepreneur and advocate for sustainable small-island development, he works to strengthen Mathraki and the wider Diapontia Islands through responsible tourism, community initiatives, environmental stewardship, and partnerships with businesses, universities, and public institutions. Chris believes that lasting change comes from practical action, collaboration, and giving people a meaningful reason to contribute. Through The Diapontia Blueprint, his goal is to help connect people, expertise, and opportunities across Mathraki, Othonoi, and Erikoussa—building stronger, living islands for future generations.

Gus Manessis

Erikoussa Representative

Gus Manessis spent part of his childhood attending school in Corfu while spending significant time on his family's island of Erikoussa. Those years gave him some of his happiest childhood memories and created a connection to the island that has remained throughout his life. He is now returning regularly with his wife and daughter, initially dividing their time between Florida and Erikoussa while building a greater part of their family's future on the island. Having invested in property on Erikoussa, Gus also plans to establish and operate businesses from the island. He brings more than 20 years of experience in business ownership, hospitality, property management, civic involvement, and working with local communities. Through The Diapontia Blueprint, he hopes to use that experience to support responsible development, stronger infrastructure, local businesses, and greater cooperation across Erikoussa, Mathraki, and Othonoi.
